Principles for the studying and writing of history:
- We will always strive to write about what is good, what is beautiful, and what is true.
- We will always strive to write interesting, inspiring, and educational articles.
- We will always strive to frame our understanding of history through the eyes of God and the Catholic Church.
History is complicated but our understanding does not have to be. There have been many people, places, and events that have and continue to shape our world. Your understanding of reality and who you are and where you have come from, affects how you live out your life. Everyone has a worldview (all be it not always right), and this dictates how they view the past, present, and future.
Our belief can be summed up as follows:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen
This is how we look at the world. This is how we will live our lives. This is how we will view our past, present, and future. We believe in honesty. Everyone has their biases. At least we will be upfront about them. We profess the faith of our ancestors. We stand on the scriptures and traditions of those who came before us. We seek to understand the past, so that we may understand our current situation and where we are going. We believe in the Supernatural and will not dismiss it out of hand as modern scholarship does. Theology, philosophy, literature, myths, legends, poetry, art, and anything else we see fit as increasing our understanding of the past will be covered.
We seek to restore the social Kingship of Christ, commonly known as Christendom. Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.
